Electronic Agriculture in Kenya’s Arid and Semi–Arid Lands (ASAL) Schools.
SUMMARY
The E-Agriculture methodology seeks to produce agricultural products including crops and livestock in Kenya’s ASAL Schools as a source of learning, food security and agri-business.
Got a suggestion on how to make this idea even better?

Mr Karuku,
It is good to see someone with a degree in agriculture involved with "Africa Rural Connect". Your program is encouraging and seems to have a good extension approach.
A few weeks ago, I sent an e-mail to a professor in the school of agriculture (complaining that agricultural schools and students were not involved with ARC - I stand corrected.) at Purdue U. trying to encurage students and staff in the school to get involved with "Africa Rural Connect". You might be interested in the professor's work. Dr. Ejeta is the 2009 reciptient of the World Food Prize for his development of drouht resistant varieties of sorghum for sub-Sahara Africa.
Best wishes,

Mr Newhart,
Sorry for the long delay in my reply to your comments.
Thank you so much for your observation and complements. The E-agriculture approach is quite interesting to implement. We are also very encouraged because many actors have come forward to be enjoined in this endevour.
I believe like you do that agriculture students and staff at Purdue and other universities would contribute and even gain a lot if they were involved with ARC.
Thank you for enlightening me about Dr. Ejeta's work on sorghum. I have now been able to read it and I now think that I am a better person.
I hope to hear more from you soon.
Macheru.

Hi Mr Karuku,
There is an email list for sustainable agriculture academics, SANet. You can reach many university agriculture professionals through it. here's the link to read through the archives and to join: http://lists.sare.org/archives/sanet-mg.html. It's a low level list but with some excellent discussions.
Also, in your proposal for this contest, how would the monies from the contest be utilized if you win?
