Community/Village Information Centres

It is known that information is power, most of the farmers in Tanzania lack information in their day to day activities in a way that they have failed to develop. It became not possible for them to change from traditional way of farming, this is just because they have lack of information. Media industry is not for them since they are not covered and given the information for their benefits.

My idea is to establish an organisation which can assist and organise them to establish VILLAGE INFORMATION CENTRES, where through them they can built and manage. My main task will be to sell the idea, organise them to build using their own resources and through donor support if available and advice/guide them on how to run and manage after the construction and have one volunteer to mann it.

These Centers will contain simple information to serve their farming and living needs (Printed and electronic ones). Immediately or later to organise each to have power (Electric or Solar) depend with the village situtation so as services like internet can be accessed.

Through the organisation I will facilitate and link them with Media as for them to tell their success and failed stories. From this excercise I beleive others would like to learn from them. It is agreeable that Information is Power so lets give them information so as for them to emporwer their mind for change and development. These problems of Poverty, Climate change/environmental destruction/protection, water etc. can only be reduced if people are given information.

The program aimed to start in a some few selected areas in one region and later to scatered into other villages.
