Using unresolved conflict to tap into the potential of sub-Saharan Africans, resulting increased food production, improved respect for women, decreased violence, and improved morale.

ESTIMATED COST: $0

In a period of four years, from 2000-03, in the Djenne region of Mali,  a farmer-based research project was initiated.  Conflict resolving skills were used to bring seven ethnic groups into harmony and to capture the best of their thinking to foster prosperity in their communities.  Food production increased, respect for women rose, violent conflict disappeared, and optimism flourished in the region.  The skills were easily transfered to local teachers, who spread the process throughout the area.  For more information, see website: www.aboutlistening.com
