Developing Community Structures (basic human needs) to Help Needy and Homeless Children
Using local resources to help the needy.
In Kenya, the majority of orphaned and highly impoverished children eventually find their way into the streets, where they are highly exposed to crime drus and immorality.
All of these unfortunate members of the society have a right to all basic needs of every other human being.
Community services such as water, basic housing etc can be used to generate resources that can be used to cushion these people from abject poverty, thereby empowering them to participate in meaningful economic activities that could generate enough money to guarantee them social security and personal improvement. This will restore their human dignity.
I have personally volunteered to donate a piece of land in Kagio town for construction of a community bore hole and a shelter for street children within Kagio town of Kirinyaga district.
Residents coming for water will pay a token-which will be used to support these children, so that they can have decent meals and home.
The street children will participate in economic activities like tree nursery-which will be sold to the community to generate more income.
This idea will require donor funding for construction of a bore hole. The rest of the project will continue smoothly as it will be self sustaining. This idea can then be replicated all over Kenyan towns and Africa, so that every society will be able to take care of the less fortunate using their own local resources.
Got a suggestion on how to make this idea even better?
REMIX IT!
