Aigbogun Simple Biomass Stove
A simple cheap biomass stove to replace kerosene stove and cooking gas
My full names are Clement Ilenre Aigbogun. I am a Nigerian living in Nigeria.
I am the Managing Consultant of NiCan Environmental Technologies, a firm that engage in the design and distribution of environmental technologies to include simple biomass stoves.
My idea is fired by a deep sense of patriotism after observing the socioeconomic conditions of average Africans.
My idea is double barreled in the sense that it is aimed at providing a cheap practical replacement for kerosene and gas cookers on the one hand and also provide craftsmen and artisans a blue chip stove they can construct and sell at a profit after they have learnt how to do it. The average African urban dweller presently has to contend with the continuing increase in cost for the purchase of kerosene and cooking gas. And to make matters worse, these products intermittently get scarce further worsening the plight of Africans.
THE AIGBOGUN BIOMASS STOVE
This stove would not use sawdust. The following are recommended biomass (dry) for use.
- Yam peel
- Banana peel
- Millet peel
- Rice peel
- Pieces of sticks
- Charcoal
- Any dry biomass(EXCLUDING SAWDUST)
This simple stove would consist of two chambers.
- The outer chamber would provide the heat
- The inner chamber would hold a stock of biomass which would provide flammable gas through carefully drilled outlet holes when heated up and the flame would complement the flame from that which comes from the heating chamber.
OPERATION
(Inner Chamber)
- The inner chamber would hold a stock of biomass.
- The biomass would be put into the chamber without compressing.
- The inner chamber would be gas tight except for recommended outlet holes.
(Outer chamber)
- This is where initial heating would start
- The recommended fuel is charcoal or sticks
- There would be a net like opening at the base of this chamber
This stove should cook for hours!
