(WASTE IN LATRINES DOES EVERYBODY RIGHT)

I would like to propose  using a very small wattage LED light to provide lighting in outhouses in Lesotho.  I know it may sound strange but while serving as a PCV in Lesotho, I know first hand how dark and sometimes scary it could be when having to go out into the dark night to relieve yourself.

As a child, maybe you used a potato to make a clock or to provide enough electricity to light a bulb.  Using this same science about positive and negative electrons in zinc (a Nail), carbon and small copper wires, it too can be used to conduct electricity by using urine from an outhouse to create a nearly endless source of electricity.  The light itself is bright enough to see what one is doing and yet not bright enough to attract insects.

I would like the opportunity to use my science background in providing a Lesotho village with outhouse electricity and create a documentary video project about the process so that other PCV's may replicate the project in the village they reside.
