Active NGO Collaboration
Collaboration amongst NGOs is more effective than non-collaboration amongst NGOs. Collaboration minimizes duplicate humanitarian efforts and increases the effectiveness of smaller organizations.

Active collaboration amongst non-governmental organizations requires honest communication. This honest communication means honestly admitting strengths and weakness, areas of need and areas of expertise, networks and miscommunications, goals and oversights. Once honest communication has been achieved, tasks may be delegated. Willing NGOs can become specialized to meet specific needs. NGO can meet certain needs in certain areas of need at certain times of need. NGOs can do this through honest communication and a willingness to collaborate with other NGOs.
Targeted communication and advertising campaigns with populations around the globe can help raise money for specific causes at specific times, instead of funding inactive or currently unnecessary humanitarian efforts.
This communication and collaboration amongst NGOs (large and small) can perhaps be accomplished through an easy-access medium like the Internet. It could be a base for NGOs to trade resources and ideas. It can also be a place for NGOs to publically define their specific humanitarian role in a given situation.
